Maternity fashion thoughts
Welcome!
We are very excited about our new blog!
We now have the means to communicate our thoughts about, well, anything (…) on paper. Well, not exactly paper… but the screen will do.
This is a wonderful time to be pregnant! The fashion world has so much to offer & you get a wide selection to choose from in color, style, pattern, even budget.
It used to be easiest to go into hubby’s side of the closet & find something to hide your growing belly with. But let’s face it: 1. their side of the closet is small(er than yours!) & doesn’t have the variety you’d like to be able to choose from. 2. Who do you think you are fooling? Other women will know what trick you are trying to pull!
This summer is the time to take advantage of all worlds & enjoy a celebration of maternity fashion! It’s here, and you are not pregnant every day, enjoy it!
Happy pregnancy! Happy shopping!

How exciting! Congrats on your very own blog!
YES! This a FABULOUS time to be pregnant in terms of fashion! I must admit, I was very shay about buying maternity clothes in the beginning, but found out that it is SOOOO much more comfortable to ware what was designed for this exact purpose! And the trend to go tight is just fantastic! When else can you NOT care about not having a six pack?….

Unfortunately, when I was pregnant I wanted nothing to do with anything tight and I really, really missed my innie bellie button – and being able to see my feet.
While many want to glamorize pregnancy – to me it was a journey into a world that I somehow couldn’t wait to escape. Early on it was exiciting – don’t get me wrong, but as I slowly turned into what could only be described as a beloted hippo my blissful dreamy state of pregnancy turned into a living rendition of a picaso painting. Walking became a major undertaking – not only did I struggle to breath while going up a single flight of stairs, but I couldn’t see my feet so lived in a constant state of terror that I was going to trip and fall. I also somehow created these images in my head of what I must look like walking down the street. I knew I was mobile, but my gant really turned into more of a waddle and my lower back pain forced me to often walk hunched over like an 90 year old woman. The fact that I somehow lost my memory too did not help matters any – slap on a grey wig, hand me a cane and I could have easily been mistaken for a world record breaking pregnant grandma.
Ultimately I think God designed things this way – in preventing us from being able to see ourselves the way others do – not being able to see our own feet or other parts of our body he protected us from the sheer trauma that would most likely follow if we could. Because let’s face it nothing really positive is going on from our bellie button down by the time we’ve reached our 7-8 month of pregnancy. If we could see what was occuring we’d likely never have sex again let alone have anymore children!
Thankfully – nature seems to cure us of our pregnancy related woes and we quickly forget once our children have been born. It doesn’t take us long to yearn for another one and we suddenly find ourselves doing it all over again!
My advice is go for what is comfortable in clothing – tight, lose, or even tent like. Whatever makes you feel beautiful! The final months are difficult and uncomfortable and your clothing should be the least of your worries.
